What is “Casting”? A process for selecting an actor or individual for a particular role or part. How does Casting work? Here at Glass Eye Productions, we use a variety of talent agencies and casting directors to aid in our search for the right fit. This, combined with the list below, helps us identify who to hire during the casting process. First, a breakdown must be made that details what the project is and provides a description of each role. For some projects we may be casting a host or models. The breakdown may include the plot of the commercial (or video), as well as what ages you are looking for, appearance, height, relevant character notes, etc. It will also usually include the sides (a script) each actor should audition with. Next, auditions take place. They can either be in-person or, what has become more common, self-taped. This allows you to get to know [...]

We’ve experienced some turbulence learning the art of aerial filming (four drones later), but the hard lessons have really started to pay off. Our latest flying machine is an Inspire 2 Pro outfitted with a Zenmuse X5S camera with CinemaDNG and ProRes capabilities, which allows for some stunning visuals. We now have the ability to capture 4K footage that just a couple of years ago would have been out of the question for most project budgets. Cinematic Storytelling Today we use our aerial capabilities to add a cinematic quality. The footage is amazing and it’s a blast to shoot! Whether flying through a large industrial building or soaring above scenic vistas, the drone gives us a whole new perspective, and we are able to capture shots that would not be possible from the ground. FAA Certified We are in compliance with the Federal Aviation Administration's strict operating rules regarding drones flown for commercial use. We've passed the aeronautical knowledge exam to become FAA [...]

At Glass Eye Productions, Inc., we value the location scouting process and do everything in our power to find the location for shoots that will help create the best footage. One of the most important but not totally obvious aspects of pre-production is location scouting. This is the process of traveling to a location to determine if it should or should not be used in a particular shoot, or to see what can be changed to make the place more flattering for a shoot. Even though the location of a shoot becomes a background detail to viewers, it can stand out in a negative way if it doesn’t fit the needs of the scene. At Glass Eye Productions, Inc., we value the location scouting process and do everything in our power to find the location for shoots that will help create the best footage. Some shoots don’t require location scouting, but for those that [...]

The spot was shot on an organic farm location in Moorpark, CA. Glass Eye Productions handled the entire production process including location scouting and casting. The in-house advertising team in Olathe, Kansas, created the script. We really liked the concept and story and felt it connected with a segment of their consumer base that often gets overlooked. The campaign has been very successful for John Deere, and our Glass Eye crew feels fortunate to have been a part of it. Lucy’s Dream Storyline Lucy has always dreamed of owning her own business. A LOOK INTO WORKING WITH ANIMALS: PUPPIES

By |2017-03-13T21:26:23+00:00April 22nd, 2016|Categories: Uncategorized|Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , |Comments Off on A LOOK INTO WORKING WITH ANIMALS: PUPPIES

This week, Glass Eye Productions had the opportunity to work with adorable dogs and puppies for a TV spot for a top North Orange County real estate agency, Darryl & JJ Jones. Working with the animals was a challenge and required patience. Animals are difficult to control, and don’t take direction quite like humans. It’s also difficult to get frustrated with them because they are cute beyond belief, especially the Labrador Retrievers that we were able to feature in our project. In the end, our hard work and patience paid off, and no animals were bothered in the making of the TV spot. Photos from the shoot:

Glass Eye Productions performed a bit of community service this week. We brought our crew up to Brea Olinda High School to shoot and edit a documentary story for the Every 15 Minutes Program. Description of the program on the Every 15 Minutes website: “The Every 15 Minutes Program offers real-life experience without the real-life risks. This emotionally charged program, entitled Every 15 Minutes, is an event designed to dramatically instill teenagers with the potentially dangerous consequences of drinking alcohol and texting while driving.” The program encourages students to take responsibility for personal actions and the lives of their friends. Every 15 Minutes provides a real-life, visual representation of the consequences associated with poor decisions. Glass Eye Productions enjoyed working with the high school students and hopes that the documentary will raise awareness for this important cause.
